In today’s micro master class what we’re going to be looking at is the medium, the visual medium of video.
Let’s have a look at some good things about video.
Well, firstly it’s repeatable and therefore it’s cost effective. You record it once and you can replay it any number of times in any number of places. Secondly, it has a global reach and a potentially huge audience and thirdly if that audience is big enough it can potentially go viral.
Let’s have a look at some not-so-good things about video.
It’s repeatable and therefore it’s cost effective but if cost-effective equals cheap it can also equal nasty. It has a global reach and a huge audience but if that huge audience doesn’t like what it sees you’re doing yourself a serious disservice and finally it could potentially go viral but I’m sure we’ve all seen things that have gone viral for all of the wrong reasons and I’m sure that you don’t want to be one of those.
So the questions to ask yourself are:
- How are you going to get to grips with this medium?
- How are you going to get comfortable?
- What do you need to do to get comfortable with it and is it just about you or are there other factors?
In the next masterclass, we’ll have a look to see if it’s all about you.
